Bomberman Live Coming to the Xbox Live Arcade!

 

 

Hudson games recently announced that “Bomberman Live” for the Xbox Live Arcade is going to be releasing some time this summer. The game will be an all new version of Bomberman and will have 8 person multiplayer on Xbox Live.

Want to Make a Weapon for a Video Game?

Electronic Arts is giving you the chance to make a weapon for the upcomming Xbox 360 game “Army of Two.” All you have to do is go to http://www.ea.com/armyoftwo/home.jsp and follow the rules on how to submit a blueprint of your very own weapon. Remember to be very creative when you submit a weapon.

*UPDATE* On Halo 3/ Crackdown Beta

“We’re happy to finally announce that the issues being faced with the Halo 3 beta and Crackdown will be resolved shortly. The Microsoft team has found a solution and it’s undergoing final testing now.

Assuming the test pass goes according to plan, the fix will come in the form of a Crackdown title update within the next three to six hours.

We understand many of you were eagerly awaiting your chance to jump into the Halo 3 Beta and this technical issue has put a damper on your plans. Thankfully the fix is incoming and we’re sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Ultimately we hope this will all soon be a distant memory once you pick up the Spartan Laser, launch yourself from a Mancannon and enjoy online shenanigans with your friends.

As a reminder, people who already have the Halo 3 Beta are unaffected by this issue. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we have more information.”- Bungie.net

HD-DVD Drive Update Set to Roll Out Soon!!

This update for the Xbox 360 HD DVD player is set to release sometime very soon.

List of fixes included in the update:

- Fix DD being stuck in “Night Mode” which is essentially Dynamic Range Compression leading to the sound sounding very flat

- Option to output ALL HD DVD audio as DTS 1.5Mbps (list includes DTrueHDueHD, DTS, and any other audio option offered on HD DVD discs I may have missed)

- Option to output ALL HD DVD audio as DD 640Kbps, (which it currently does, but will be fixed from the Night Mode bug), list includes DTrueHDueHD, DTS, and any other audio option offered on HD DVD discs that I may have missed.

- Option to output ALL HD DVD audioWMAProAPro (768Kbps I think), (list includes DTrueHDueHD, DTS, and any other audio option offered on HD DVD discs I may have missed) for those receivers that support WMA.

- Option to enable/disable Night Mode (with the default set to off)

- Fix a number of disc incompatibilities (including DVD Essentials) as well as a number of Lip Sync issues.

Interview with Xbox 360 Launch Team Member Hellfire360!

I contacted Hellfire360 who was the development lead for the Xbox 360 HD DVD player and is currently the “Development Manager for Xbox Community, Commerce & Live Gaming” and he was nice enough to answer some interview questions for us. Live360: What exactly does the development manager for Xbox community, commerce & live gaming do?

I manage the developers responsible for building out xbox live’s community, commerce and live gaming features. So stuff like the marketplace, instant messaging, gamer profiles, parental controls etc.

Live360: What first got you interested in gaming?

Atari 800 + star raiders when i was 4-5 years old. Been hooked ever since!
