Mass Effect ; The first hour

 

Computer and videogames.com got a chance to play Mass Effect for an hour. This is one of the Xbox 360 hits, and an RPG made by Bioware. Bioware has a rich history of great RPGs, including Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire. If you don’t know anything about the game, here’s one thing they said.

Jack Bauer and Space Zombies; that’s what you can expect in the first hour of BioWare’s latest RPG masterpiece Mass Effect. Co-founder and co-doctor Ray Muzyka is calling it “a next-gen BioWare game on steroids”. We’re calling it “24 in space”.

Team Fortress 2 details revealed

If you don’t know what Team Fortress 2 is, it is the multiplayer game that comes with Half Life 2 : Orange Pack. It takes a new direction in graphics, with an amazing cell-shaded style and seems to flow almost indefinately with the style of gameplay. The game has 9 different classes. Each one plays as a completely different style. Some classes include Spy, Scout, Heavy, and Pyro. Valve is currently working on balancing issues but they seem to have nailed it down. IGN posted an article on their site where they got to playtest the game with valve and they gave their personal review on each class. Unlike most games where the Engineer and Medic are useless, they play a key role in this game.

Epic confirms new achievements for Gears of War.

 

On the official Gears of War forums, administrator Mark Rein, confirmed a new update that will be adding extra achievements to the game.

New Grand Theft Auto IV screenshots!

Some of the writers at 1up.com were offered a 10 minute demo of the highly awaited upcoming game, Grand Theft Auto IV, and decided to upload several images of the game.

First Guitar Hero III info

Activison has officially announced that Guitar Hero 3 will have wireless guitars, online multiplayer modes and original artist recordings. Multiplayer will have battlemodes, Boss battles and unlockable content. The Gibson Les Paul will be the new wireless guitar.

Want to Make a Weapon for a Video Game?

Electronic Arts is giving you the chance to make a weapon for the upcomming Xbox 360 game “Army of Two.” All you have to do is go to http://www.ea.com/armyoftwo/home.jsp and follow the rules on how to submit a blueprint of your very own weapon. Remember to be very creative when you submit a weapon.

*UPDATE* On Halo 3/ Crackdown Beta

“We’re happy to finally announce that the issues being faced with the Halo 3 beta and Crackdown will be resolved shortly. The Microsoft team has found a solution and it’s undergoing final testing now.

Assuming the test pass goes according to plan, the fix will come in the form of a Crackdown title update within the next three to six hours.

We understand many of you were eagerly awaiting your chance to jump into the Halo 3 Beta and this technical issue has put a damper on your plans. Thankfully the fix is incoming and we’re sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Ultimately we hope this will all soon be a distant memory once you pick up the Spartan Laser, launch yourself from a Mancannon and enjoy online shenanigans with your friends.

I manage the developers responsible for building out xbox live’s community, commerce and live gaming features. So stuff like the marketplace, instant messaging, gamer profiles, parental controls etc.

Live360: What first got you interested in gaming?

Atari 800 + star raiders when i was 4-5 years old. Been hooked ever since!
